The process

The Local Stories Project employs a multidisciplinary, integrated arts process that focuses on town history.  Initial research for the project involves interviews of town elders and field trips;  classroom teachers collaborate with town historical societies. Students keep project journals that combine drawing and notes. During an artist residency, students develop a permanent mural and a physical theater piece. Mural
and performance are then
presented to the community in a public celebration.
