This elementary school in Portland participated in a 3 year integrated arts program coordinated by Side X Side. Third graders explored a range of topics:

Year 1: 

Events in Portland history, including the bombardment of 1775, King Philip's War, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow and the Great Fire.

Year 2:

Mapping the resources of Machigonne - how has Portland and the use of it's resources changed from the tie of the Wabanaki?

​

Year 3:

Portraits of famous and not so famous Portland  historical figures

​
