Welcome mural

 

Riverton Elementary School,

grade 4/5, 2018-2019

 

How do you make a welcome mural in a school where the students speak more than 16 languages?

 

In a special collaboration with Riverton art teacher Chad Hart, students considered all of the ways to say "Welcome!" in many languages and cultures. They also discovered the many different foods used in welcome feasts throughout the world, such as fufu and sambusas (Africa), spring rolls (China), and casseroles and pies (United States).
